WEST CORNWALL, CT-071814JS08- The Housatonic River is seen through one of the viewing windows of the West Cornwall which will be celebrations its 150th anniversary. In honor of the event, artists are invited to a Paint the Bridge Day July 26. Melissa Andrews of the Economic Development Commission and Bianca Griggs of the Wish House are recreating an event that used to take place on the historic span. Painters, sculptors, photographers and all other artists are welcome to come with the goal of handing in their work by 2 p.m. at the Cornwall Bridge Pottery for exhibit and sale. A reception to be held the same day from 3 to 6 p.m. Seventy percent of each sale will go to the artist and 30 percent to the West Cornwall Village Improvement Association for maintenance of the parklike areas around the bridge. Also welcome is art created before that day. Each artist may submit one creation. The exhibit will be open for viewing July 27.<br />
