TORRINGTON , CT, CT-041115JS50- The monument at Coe Park in Torrington, carries the original name of the community, Wolcottville. The figure, 16 feet of granite, first stood in front of City Hall but was moved to Coe Park in 1936 when the present City Hall building was constructed. Reports from the day said the Naugatuck Railroad ran an excursion train to the dedication ceremony, which was attended by 7,000 people. Jim Shannon Republican-American
