Over 1,500 Law Enforcement officers and Special Olympics Athletes will participate in this year's Torch Run. The goal for 2008 is to raise $500,000 for Special Olympics Connecticut.<br />
In the last 21 years, the Connecticut Law Enforcement Torch Run has grown into the largest grass roots fund-raising event for Special Olympics. The 2008 Torch Run will cover over 539 miles and run through more than 100 cities and towns. Over 1,500 Law Enforcement officers and Special Olympics Athletes will participate in this year's Torch Run. These officers represent local, state, and federal departments, agencies and correctional facilities. The goal for 2008 is to raise $500,000 for Special Olympics Connecticut.<br />
