WATERBURY CT.-28 AUGUST 2013 082813DA01- The Most Reverend Henry J. Mansell, D.D. Archbishop blesses Francis Xavier Plaza at 605 Baldwin Street, Waterbury, with the assistance of Fr. Jeffrey Romans, Assistant Chancellor and secretary to the Archbishop as they commemorate the renovation of the site into affordable and supportive housing apartments. The former Saint Francis Xavier School will be renovated into twenty apartments and will offer affordable, permanent housing with support services for homeless and low-income families and individuals. Francis Xavier Plaza will be the second affordable housing project spearheaded by the Archdiocese of Hartford. In 2009, it opened Cathedral Green in Hartford which provides supportive housing to 28 families. <br />
