Southbury, CT-16 July 2012-071612CM07- Sergeant Liam Dwyer (U.S Marine Corps) (right) watches as Mike Healy of Southbury tees off during the First Annual Sergeant Liam Dwyer and Wounded Warrior Project Community Golf Tournament Monday morning at the Heritage Village Country Club in Southbury. More than 144 participants took to the fairways for the event. "I really can't say enough words to thank everybody that's come out here. I wish my heart was big enough to just give to everybody and just tell them how thankful I am." Proceeds from the event will go towards care for Dwyer and the Wounded Warrior Project, which "provides programs and services to severely injured service members during the time between active duty and transition to civilian life." Dwyer was injured wounded during a tour in Iraq in 2007. Then lost a leg and sustained other injuries after stepping on an IED (improvised explosive device) during a tour in Afghanistan in 2010.
