1950 - The day after the election Peter H. Dunais, left, and Peter B. Lynch, right, official custodian and assistant custodian of the voting machines, visited each of the 36 voting precincts and prepared the machines for their return trips to the storage room.  This meant cranking down the upper part of each machine, closing the metal doors, and covering them with either canvas or metal covers to keep them from being damaged in transit.
