PLYMOUTH, CT - 23 Sept. 2008 - 092308KM01 - The pitcher's mound and base paths on the baseball field at the new Terryville High School are full of weeds. Superintendent of Schools Anthony W. Distasio said the baseball, softball and soccer fields are not in playable condition. He said the school building committee, which is overseeing the $38 million project, has not accepted the fields yet. The architect, Jeter Cook & Jepson in West Hartford, and the construction manager, Newington-based Industrial Construction, are expected to re-assess the fields with an environmental company and report back to the committee next month about whether the baseball and softball fields will be ready this spring.
