OXFORD, CT - 6 August 2012-080612EC01--    A B-17 sits on the tarmac of the Waterbury-Oxford Airport Monday.  Public rides will be offered Tuesday and Wednesday.  The "Aluminum Overcast" bomber was built in 1945 for World War II but never served in battle.  While there were over 12,000 B-17's built, just 3 actively fly on any given day in the United States today.    Erin Covey Republican American.
