TORRINGTON, CT--- -121015JS01--The Connecticut Department of Transportation has cleared  nearly 2 miles of trees along Route 8 in Torrington and Winsted to create a "clear zone" which is meant to protect drivers is they go off the road. The trees were cleared in the median, near off ramps and on the shoulder of the road. <br />
