Winsted, CT- 06 August 2013-080613CM06- Left to right, Fran Devevo, of Winsted, Tom Beaudoin, of Barkhamsted and Elisa Eaton of New Hartford, hold up a peace dove on the Winsted Green Tuesday night.  The Winsted Area Peace Action held a candlelight vigil to commemorate the 68th anniversary of the 1945 bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki Japan during World War II.  The bombings, which killed 214,000 Japanese people were the first and only use of nuclear weapons in war.  The Winsted Area Peace Action members vigil is held annually to bear witness to the victims of nuclear warfare and remind the community the nuclear weapons continue to be a threat to the security of people everywhere.
