Torrington, CT-07 June 060714MK10 (from left) Warren Siel, volunteer, and Bob Orciar, member, collect debris as they wade trough the Naugatuck river on Saturday morning. The Northwestern Connecticut Chapter of Trout Unlimited and the Torrington Conservation Commission sponsored the Eighth Annual Naugatuck River Clean Up. Jim Fedorich, president, said that 20 volunteers came to get rid of trash that had been tossed in the waters. In previous years the effort had filled the thirty yard capacity dumpster the group had on hand, however, this year less volume of discard was collected hopefully due to environmental awareness said Christine Altman, chair of the Torrington Conservation Commission.
