THOMASTON, CT, 16 NOVEMBER 2010-111610JS01--Operation Click-it or Ticket is under way. For most of November, the Thomaston Police Department is joining a national effort to crack down on seat belt violations. On Tuesday, Thomaston Police officers Sgt. Gary Roberts and Officer Jarred Sauvron stood on the center line of South Main Street, peeking into cars to check for seat belt violations. Sgt. James Campbell said officers working all three shifts are paying a close attention to whether people are wearing seat belts. A violation will cost you $92. “These campaigns are for education,” he said. “We have seen a decline in tickets issued since we've done this over the past few years". Campbell said four people have been ticketed for not wearing seat belts since Nov. 8. <br />
