OXFORD, CT - 6 August 2012-080612EC03--    Crew Chief Jeff Martin of Southbury works on a B-17 on the tarmac of the Waterbury-Oxford Airport Monday.  Public rides will be offered Tuesday and Wednesday.  The "Aluminum Overcast" bomber was built in 1945 for World War II but never served in battle.  There were over 12,000 B-17's built, but just three actively fly on any given day in the United States today.    Erin Covey Republican American.
