Torrington, CT 040817MK012 Michelle Sykler watched her daughter Sykler collect eggs along with hundreds of other kids during the annual Easter egg hunt in Torrington Saturday morning. Chairman of the Torrington Parks and Recreation department Pat Fairchild said that there were six thousand eggs available for the children to snatch up. The candy laden eggs were placed into two groups, one for pre-kindergarden and younger with another for kindergarden through third grade. Fairchild said that the event has been held annually for over twenty years, however, this was the first time that it was held on the artificial turf at Torrington High School because of all the rain this past week made the other parks too muddy. She said that the egg hunt maybe held here in the future. Michael Kabelka / Republican-American
