WATERBURY, CT. 27 November 2010-112720SV05--Hundreds came to the Zion Baptist Church in Waterbury on Saturday morning to pay their final respects to Lt. Vincent Riddick, a Waterbury policeman who died this week following a long battle with brain cancer. Riddick was 42. Elected officials, Riddick's family and friends, most of the Waterbury Police Department and police from around the state filled the church for the ceremony. Motorcycle officers from several cities and towns, including Hartford, provided a police escort from the church to Pine Grove Cemetery. Riddick, a department member since 1997, was described during the ceremony as a hero and rising star who will be missed by all who knew him.<br />
