Torrington, CT-05 March 2012-030512CM03- Julia Sloan, owner of Brazen Betties, adjusts a handmade garment in her store Monday afternoon in downtown Torrington. Sloan was getting the store ready for an event titled, "Cash Mob for Brazen Betties" which is set to be held on Saturday March 10, from 11am to 7pm. Sloan said initially, the event was setup by her friends for Brazen Betties' three year anniversary, but she added the goal here is to support local businesses in the city. A cash mob is a group of people scheduled to assemble at a local business and purchase items from there. The idea of the mob is to support the other area businesses and help community.
